On January 11, Lee Joo-bin posted several photos on his SNS account along with the caption: “Sohyun said I look like Tomie!”
In the images, Lee Joo-bin is seen looking at herself in the mirror with long, shiny black hair and perfectly cut bangs, which highlights her flawless porcelain skin. Her calm yet penetrating expression has drawn comparisons to the chilling yet seductive character Tom from Junji Ito’s legendary Japanese horror manga series.
When the photo was placed next to an illustration of Tomthe resemblance was striking: they both exuded an aura that is both beautiful and disturbing. Fans were in awe, calling it visual “unreal” AND “out of this world”.
Currently, Lee stars in tvN’s Monday-Tuesday drama series “Spring fever“, where she plays Yoon Bom, a teacher who carries the burden of a painful past. Her portrayal of the character’s inner wounds and emotional complexity, especially in scenes shared with co-star Ahn Bo-hyun, has earned praise for its nuanced depth.
“Spring fever” made a great debut, recording 4.8% viewers for episode 1 AND 4.6% for episode 2 (families nationwide). Notably, it ranked #1 on all networks during its timeslot in the 2049 demographic – tvN’s key target audience – positioning it as a growing contender in the Monday-Tuesday drama slot.
