STAYC has been trending on social media for its cover stage at the 2024 Music Bank Global Festival in Japan.
The “Cheeky Icy Thang” singers attended the first day of the festival on the 14th, at Mizuho PayDay Dome, Fukuoka. STAYC, known for their “teenfresh” concept and captivating discography, captivated everyone with their cover of KARA’s iconic song, “Mister.”
While the official performance video hasn’t been uploaded yet, that hasn’t stopped STAYC fans SWITH from raving about their performance online.
On social media platform X (formerly Twitter), fans uploaded numerous fancams showing the group killing the performance.
The videos also featured the girls performing in matching shirts and pants, which are a nostalgic throwback to KARA’s outfits for the song’s comeback stages. STAYC members also did justice to KARA’s song by showing off their impressive vocals and dancing in sync.
“Mister” is featured on KARA’s second album “Revolution”, and despite its initial status as an untitled track, the song ultimately became immensely successful, thus propelling KARA to stardom. Aside from its catchy melody, the song is also well-loved for its memorable and fun choreography.
In other news, STAYC won the Best Artist trophy at the first Korea Grand Music Awards on November 16. STAYC also had great success in 2024, when the group released its first studio album “Metamorphic” on July 1st and its third. digital single album “…i” on October 30th.
