A TikTok posted by THE SERAPHINS shortly after their debut they are causing quite a stir on X (formerly known as Twitter). The video recently resurfaced and sparked debate about the former member Kim Garam.
The controversial video, which shows the members hugging each other and celebrating their friendship, was originally released not long after Garam left the group. The timing of this post has led some fans to question its intent, given that Garam’s departure from LE SSERAFIM occurred under controversial circumstances.

Garam’s release was later confirmed in mid-2022 MOVES AND Source music announced his temporary hiatus in response to bullying allegations. These allegations surfaced in May 2022, and following a wave of public criticism, the company ultimately decided to terminate the contract in July. In his absence, LE SSERAFIM continued to promote as a five-member group, moving forward despite a complicated public image situation.
Now that the TikTok clip has resurfaced and made the rounds on social media once again, opinions among fans remain divided, just as they were two years ago.
Some fans argue that Garam’s inclusion would have added to the group, expressing disappointment that she wasn’t given the chance to stay. Some went so far as to accuse the remaining members of behaving disparagingly towards Garam by posting a celebratory video soon after his removal. The group was even accused of behaving like “bad girls”.

Others reference LE SSERAFIM’s debut documentary series, pointing out that Garam was carefully edited out of the scene, which fueled further discussion about her treatment after leaving.

However, many fans support the current members, suggesting that they should not be held responsible for Garam’s departure, which they believe was a necessary response to the allegations against her. Some also speculate that the remaining members may have felt pressure to project a united front of five to maintain the group’s image during a difficult time, which would explain TikTok’s posting so soon after its removal.
