When asked about changes in season 3, Lee Jung-Jae explained, “Gi-Hun suffers a transformation guided by the fault for the death of a friend and his inability to save people in the game. In season 3, he decides to act on what he can do in the game arena.”
Lee byung-hun developed on the plot, saying, “Gi-Hun is devastated after losing his closest friend at the hands of the front man. By falling into a state of helplessness, in the end he regains his beliefs and begins to trace a way to dismantle the system, led by a conviction in humanity.”
He added, “While the man of the front observes the resolution of Gi-Hun, devised his counter-cutrosteria. If the seasons 2 and 3 are seen as a continuous narrative, the season 3 acts as a final chapter. It is an intense story both dramatically and thematically. In essence, it marks the true conflict between the front man and Gi-Hun.”
