But wait… why do K-pop stans mention Krystal Jung?
On September 30, aespa entered a new musical era when the group released teasers for its fifth mini-album, “Whiplash.”
The quartet will return in style on October 21, five months after the success of their first studio album, “Armageddon” in May.

On this day, therefore, his official social media accounts revealed the conceptual images of “Whiplash” featuring the return of his virtual avatars, ae-aespa.
For those who aren’t familiar with ae-aespa, they are the virtual counterparts of the human members called ae-Karina, ae-Giselle, ae-Winter, and ae-NingNing.
They debuted with the team as an octet in 2020 with “Black Mamba”. They live on the planet KWANGYA and are considered the “hidden members”.
After their last appearance in 2023 during aespa’s promotion of “Better Things”, ae-aespa returned, but shocked the MY (fandom) with their improved appearance.

Contrary to their cartoon-like CGs of the past, they were now 3D with realistic human features, accurately resembling their human selves.
However, the one that caught the most attention is ae-Giselle, who surprisingly reminded K-pop stans of f(x) of Krystal Jung.
The avatar has pink hair and an unconventional eye accessory reminiscent of the member’s recent style but, feature-wise, especially the nose, face shape and physique, it was like the former artist by SM Entertainment. It almost seems like Krystal is in aespa.
The combination of the two stars’ characteristics excites netters and fans since Giselle, since her debut, has always been mistaken for the “little sister” of the f(x) member due to their uncanny similarities.

Interestingly, Giselle and Krystal were also friends in real life!
