W Korea is facing even more criticism following her controversial “Love Your W 2025” breast cancer awareness event, with a recent Instagram post fueling the fires of public outrage.
The campaign, which was initially intended to promote breast cancer awareness and fundraising, has already been criticized for turning into a celebrity-filled but insubstantial party. Netizens criticized the event for prioritizing glamor over the actual cause, pointing out the absence of educational messages, adequate transparency in fundraising or even a symbolic nod to breast cancer, such as the pink ribbon.
Now, W Korea sparked further backlash after posting a sponsored Instagram story promoting the Dyson Super Sonic R hairdryer, tagging it with the same hashtags used for the campaign against breast cancer: #LoveYourW2025 #BreastCancerAwarenessCampaign #DysonBeauty

The promotional post has been tagged out of tune AND insensitive especially because Hair loss is a common side effect of chemotherapy for breast cancer patients. Many netizens saw it as a painful reminder of the trauma associated with the treatment.
Comments from the online community Theqoo reflect growing public anger:
“My friend had chemo and lost all his hair… and now, what is this? It’s so frustrating.”
“I had to sell my Dyson after losing my hair. This is beyond tone deaf.”
“What does a luxury hairdryer have to do with breast cancer awareness?”
Others questioned whether Dyson made significant donations to breast cancer-related causes or whether the post was simply using a sensitive campaign to boost sales.

Despite the turmoil, W Korea has not yet issued an apology or clarification. Critics are now calling for brands and media to engage in more thoughtful and respectful campaigns when addressing serious health issues.
As the reaction intensifies, many believe W Korea‘s credibility in hosting future advocacy campaigns may already be damaged beyond repair.
