Identity of youtuber harmful to be revealed to Source Music & Belift Lab
Previously, Source Music and Belift Lab pursued legal actions against 7 YouTube channels for comments of hatred and defamation against the artists of the two agencies, in particular the Sserafim and Illit.
The controversial YouTubers include the nice rabbit Jjang, Enterpick, People Box, from Issue, Newjeansfam, Issue Tan, Wangjam Issue, 2 of which are presumably “pro-nerwjeans” (now renamed in “Njz”), according to their names of channels .
In the latest development of this case, the United States Court has confirmed that Google must grant music of origin and Belift Lab access to the identity of the aforementioned YouTubers, who show a lean towards the 2 Hybe labels.
In particular, the judge of the magistrate Chief Woman M. Ryu of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California said: “The request is neither excessively intrusive nor excessively onerous, as it only seeks the necessary information. ”
It is known that Google was required to provide ID Account, creation dates, names, birth dates, genres, telephone numbers, addresses and -mail and even access registers associated with the channels within 30 days from the Court’s order.
However, although Google and the affected people are able to present movements that oppose this, but no objections have been received as of February 5, 2024, therefore any subsidy of access to the confirmed identity.
Further causes in Korea
On the other hand, all 7 channels mentioned above are accused of publishing videos that include harmful complaints against Illit and Sserafim. According to the order of the court filed by Hybe and the labels, the channels took on the Sserafim of “Mix the vocal skills of its members from the public” and analogous to “Copy of other artists”among other accusations.
In August 2024, Source Music and Belift Lab presented similar requests for the first time against the YouTube channel with the western district court of Seoul, but the cases were not able to proceed due to the identities of the owners of channels that remain Unknown.
Now that at the 2 agencies, access to YouTuber identities has been granted, they could be able to continue their cases in Korea.
