On the afternoon of December 17, YG Entertainment said: “It is difficult to provide details about the artist’s service. However, sick leave was used as an extension of care received before service and all other leave, including days off, was used in accordance with legislation.”
Early that morning, Dispatch had reported that Song Mino, a public service employee at the Mapo Convenience Facility, had not reported to work properly.
According to the report, Song Mino started his service at Mapo Facility Management Corporation on March 24 last year. Then, in March this year, a manager in charge of resident facilities and Song Mino’s superior, Mr. A, transferred him to the Mapo Convenience Facility.
The media said that after moving to the new place of work, Song Mino would occasionally show up, register to participate, smoke, and then disappear. The dispatch also reported that between November and early December they visited the facility more than ten times but never saw Song Mino.
In response to Dispatch’s request for confirmation of attendance, Mr A reportedly cited reasons such as “Today is annual leave”, “Today is sick leave” AND “Today he is hospitalized.” Regarding requests to disclose attendance records or CCTV footage, Mr A responded: “This is impossible for privacy reasons.”
Meanwhile, Song Mino is expected to complete his service on December 23.
