On December 24, Song Joong-ki appeared as a guest on MBC FM4U’s “Perfect Day with Lee Sang-soon”, where he talked about his life during the hiatus and the dynamics with his wife Katy and their children.
When asked about his daily routine, Song Joong-ki said that his main focus is his children, “Right now all my attention is on the children. I follow their program carefully and, even when my interests are not directly related to children, I still find myself focused on language.”
Since his wife is not Korean, the couple communicates mainly in English. Song Joong-ki acknowledged that his English is not perfect but expressed a desire for deeper and more meaningful conversations. He explained, “I’m not perfect, but I have a desire to have deeper conversations. When I can’t fully express myself in English, it can be frustrating. I think the kids will probably develop language skills faster than me, so I’m working hard on it.”
In addition to focusing on his language skills, Song Joong-ki said he has read many books and taken lessons. He also revealed that he and his wife help each other improve their language skills. “My wife corrects me every time I make a mistake or use the wrong word. We are teaching each other English and Korean,” he said.
Discussing his relationship with Katie, Song Joong-ki said that they have never had big arguments, although the topic of language sometimes causes slight tension. “We never had big arguments, but it was usually about language. When we have to talk, I have to think more carefully, so I try to avoid making mistakes. That’s why I don’t get emotional like that anymore.” he laughed.
