On December 19, during a meeting held after the press preview of the film “Bogota: City of the Lost” (directed by Kim Seong-je) at Megabox COEX in Gangnam, Seoul, Song Joong-ki shared his special bond with Colombia.
When asked about concerns that the film might portray Bogota solely as a crime hub, Song Joong-ki responded: “My mother-in-law is Colombian. Many of my wife’s family members live there.”
Song Joong-ki married former British actress Katy Louise Saunders in 2023. In the same year, the couple welcomed a son and recently had a daughter, making them parents of two sons.
He continued: “From what I know, a lot of effort has been made in the past to shake off such negative images. The Colombia I experienced is full of energy, warmth and amazing food – it’s absolutely delicious. I have also seen the efforts of people trying to change those outdated perceptions.”
The film “Bogota: City of the Lost,” out in theaters Dec. 31, tells the story of immigrants who make dangerous deals to survive in Bogota, the last land for hopeless lives.
