Actor Song Joong Ki recently paid a heartfelt tribute to the deceased Lee Sun Kyun during his appearance on MBC Radio FM4U‘S A perfect day with Lee Sang Soon on December 24th. Song appeared on the show to promote her latest film Bogota, but I took a moment to honor the memory of Lee Sun Kyun.

He went on to reveal that he recently started rewatching the series and noticed that the broadcast date was close to the anniversary of Lee Sun Kyun’s death.

Lee Sun, why late

Song Joong Ki’s admiration for Lee Sun Kyun has been evident in his previous appearances. At the 29th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in October, the late actor was posthumously awarded the Korea Cinema Achievement Award. The festival also held a tribute segment, featuring a video montage of Lee Sun Kyun’s most impactful works, including My lord and his final film, Land of happiness.

As the tribute video played, Song Joong Ki, along with fellow actors Lee Hee Joon and Ha Yoon Kyung, were visibly moved, struggling to hold back tears as they watched.
