On the January 22nd episode of the podcast “Song Eun-yi and Kim Sook’s Secret Guarantee,” Song Hye-kyo and Jeon Yeo-bin, stars of the film “Dark Nuns,” appeared.
Kim Sook expressed her admiration for Song Hye-kyo, who appeared because of her relationship with Song Eun-yi, “If you haven’t seen someone in 20 years, they’re basically a stranger, but you’ve come out saying keep your loyalty.” Song Hye-kyo, who last met Song Eun-yi when she was in her twenties, responded: “I kept hearing about her through mutual acquaintances.” He fondly remembered: “Song Eun-yi taught me how to drink. Right after I graduated high school and turned 20, he bought me a beer and told me I should learn to drink with adults.”
Kim Sook noted wryly: “Consider yourself lucky that you didn’t learn more from Song Eun-yi. His drinking habits are something else. If you had understood that, you wouldn’t have had a career.” Laughing, Song Hye-kyo asked, “Have you been going through a hard time, sister?“
Song Hye-kyo said people often called her “brother” or “boss”, attributing it to her boldness when she was younger. Song Eun-yi agreed: “He wasn’t afraid. He didn’t think too much about anything and just said, “I’ll try.”” Song Hye-kyo explained: “I think the nicknames came from people saying, “Look at this young girl doing her thing.” But now, the people I spend time with don’t call me that. I’m much calmer these days.”
Song Eun-yi recalled working with Song Hye-kyo in the sitcom “How Am I?”, saying, “At the time, Hye-kyo was also filming Soonpoong Clinic. He handled both dialogue-heavy sitcoms and almost never made any mistakes. The only NGs were from Jung Sang-hoon.”
Song Hye-kyo admitted: “I think being young helped. Then I could memorize the lines after just one or two readings.“When Song Eun-yi praised her flawless performance, Song Hye-kyo modestly responded: “You didn’t make any mistakes either.” Song Eun-yi joked: “That’s because I didn’t have many lines.”
Another memory involved a trip to a swimming pool in Gyeonggi Province with Cho Yeo-jeong, with Song Eun-yi recalling how the three had fun together. They also attended Cho Yeo-jeong’s high school graduation, and Song Hye-kyo recalled visiting Cho Yeo-jeong’s house and sharing meals.
Kim Sook highlighted their close bond, prompting Song Hye-kyo to reveal: “We practically lived together every day then.” Song Eun-yi added: “I also hosted his first fan meeting. He gave me a luxury wallet full of new banknotes.“Song Hye-kyo said:”I think I gave it to him hoping he would make more money.“
When the topic turned to public toilets, Song Hye-kyo admitted, “I don’t usually go to Seoul, but I do when I’m out in the countryside. I cover my face with a towel because I feel shy, not because I don’t mind being recognized.“
Kim Sook jokingly staged a scenario, saying, “Let’s take a photo, Song Hye-kyo. Just your face!” Song Hye-kyo replied: “I’ll get in the tub and stick my face out for the photo.” This prompted Kim Sook to joke “Your fan service is top notch”, causing laughter.
