She never intended to become an actress.
Song Hye Kyo she has consistently dominated the Korean entertainment industry as one of its top actresses over the years. While her acting prowess cemented her status as an industry icon, it was apparently her visuals that helped her break into showbiz as a teenager!
Recently, the actress appeared on YouTube singer-songwriter channel Jung Jaehyung as a special guest to promote his next film, Dark Nuns. During their conversation, Jung asked her if she had always dreamed of becoming an actress, to which she bluntly replied: “Being an actress wasn’t my dream.” She added that as a student, when she had to write down her future aspirations, she usually wrote “fashion designer” because she had no idea about her own career ambitions.
But it seems that destiny had already traced its path. Song recalled that she and a friend at school had decided to respond to an audition for a school uniform design in a teen magazine. She received a call later and went with her mother.
There were many aspirants on site who were much better prepared than her. “They were putting on makeup and preparing all sorts of things,” she recalled, adding that she wore no makeup because she thought she was supposed to look like a student.
Although both Song and her mother initially gave up any hope of passing the audition, she eventually won first prize and modeled for the magazine. “That’s how it all started naturally,” he explained.
Jung intervened in the story, saying Song “it must have been exceptional” for its beauty. The actress shyly replied: “It’s hard for me to say myself.
Once her stunning images landed her on the pages of teen magazines, Song explained that she got in touch with an agency and “he naturally entered the industry. Since then, he began attending auditions and almost immediately landed his role in the popular sitcom Soonpoong Clinicwhich made her a household name.
Although her images could have been a decisive factor in jump-starting her acting career, from Soonpoong Clinic TO The GlorySong has proven herself to be a noteworthy actress in each new project. His latest film, Dark Nunswith the actress Jeon Yeo Beenwill be released on January 24th in theaters in South Korea.
