On January 20, a press preview of “Dark Nuns” (directed by Kwon Hyeok-jae) was held at Megabox COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by director Kwon Hyeok-jae and actors Song Hye-kyo, Jeon Yeo-bin, Lee Jin-wook and Moon Woo-jin.
“Dark Nuns” tells the story of people who undertake a forbidden ritual to save a boy possessed by a powerful evil spirit.
In the film, Song Hye-kyo plays Sister Junia, a nun who does not hesitate to use any means necessary to save the boy in danger.
During the event, Song Hye-kyo said: “I’m very nervous. We worked hard on this film, so I hope it receives a positive response.“
He shared: “It was the first time I acted while smoking. I had a lot of worries. Since I don’t smoke, I had to think a lot about how to deal with it. However, when considering Sister Junia, she seemed like a necessary part of the role.“
Song Hye-kyo added: “It’s not a good thing, but I started smoking six months before filming started. The first scene starts with smoke and is a very close up. I didn’t want to pretend. During filming I practiced a lot both in acting and smoking.”
“Dark Nuns” will be released on January 24th.
