At the recent 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards, actress Son Ye Jin touched hearts when she was seen filming child actress Choi So Yul, showing a genuine moment of maternal warmth and affection while sitting next to her husband, Hyun Bin.
On November 20, Choi So Yul’s mother posted a video on Instagram showing a candid meeting with Son Ye Jin at the awards ceremony. He subtitled it, “‘No Other Choice’ mom, Mi-ri and Ri-won reunited. Always happy to see her, but seeing her at the Blue Dragon It made it even more special.”
He also expressed his joy at seeing Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin sitting together for a long time during the ceremony, adding: “Seeing them both in the same frame was pure love. Congratulations to both of them for winning Best Actor and Actress.”
Choi So Yul, who played Son Ye Jin’s daughter in the film No other choicehe played the cello during the event. During her performance, Son Ye Jin was caught on camera taking out her phone to film the touching moment, her gaze full of pride and affection. Sitting next to Hyun Bin, she radiated warmth as she watched the young actress perform.
This scene was especially significant given past controversies before the film’s release, when Son Ye Jin was accused of ignoring Choi So Yul on set. The young actress’ mother clarified these misunderstandings, stating: “Even though there were some confusing moments, the truth is that she was kind and loving.”
Son Ye Jin took home the Best Actress award for her role in No other choice. In his emotional acceptance speech, he shared, “This was my first film in seven years. I was worried whether I would still be able to do well, but I learned and was inspired by acting alongside senior actor Lee Byung Hun. After I got married and became a mother, my emotions deepened and my view of the world changed. I want to become a better adult and actor.”
He concluded his speech with a moving tribute: “Finally, I want to share this joy with the two men I love the most, my husband Kim Tae Pyung (Hyun Bin) and our baby Kim Woo Jin.”
