Sports Post he reportedly suggested it Tottenham Hotspur player Rodrigo Bentancur will be hit with a seven-game ban for making a racist comment against South Koreans while talking about his teammate Son Heung minimum.
Son is one of the team’s biggest stars and one of South Korea’s most beloved public figures.
Although the ban will be decided soon, the incident in which Bentancur made the racist remark occurred already in June. The football star appeared on a TV show in his homeland where he was asked about the kit of a Tottenham player.
Asking if they specifically wanted Son’s kit (or Sonny as they call him) he then added that the shirt could also be that of Son’s cousin because “they are all more or less the same.“

The Football Federation has accused the Uruguayan player of aggravated violation of its rules and is close to confirming his punishment.
Son himself commented on the situation after Bentancur posted an official apology on his Instagram account.

The son also took to Instagram to share that he had accepted his teammate’s apology. In a subsequent press conference Son also shared that Bentancur had “almost cried” while apologizing for his comments.

Although he is one of the biggest football stars in the English top division (the Premier League) Unfortunately, his son was often the subject of racist comments and actions, especially from rival fans in the stands. Therefore, fans expect stricter bans and action from the Football Association to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
