“Who does he think he is?”
On December 4, 2024 (KST), Dua Lipa performed the premiere of his two-night concert in Seoul, after some confusion due to the panic that engulfed the nation when he was President Yoon Suk Yeol declared and then abolished martial law. Despite the political tension in the air, the pop star put on an unforgettable show for her fans in Korea.
For SNL Korea TV star and personality Kwon Hyuk Soohowever, the show may be unforgettable for an entirely different reason.
While watching the show, Kwon posted several Instagram Stories that show Dua Lipa on stage. In the first, Kwon referred to Dua Lipa as “Ratatouille.” In the latter, after referring to her as Dua Lipa in the latter, Kwon wrote, “Stay still, Mapo Tofu. Let Oppa take some photos of you.
- “So which one is Ratatouille?”
- “Oh, I’m Dua Lipa, I see…”
- “Mapo Tofu!!! Stand still. Allow oppa take some photos!!”
When spoken in Korean, Dua Lipa, ratatouille and mapo tofu all become four-letter names. Some recognized this as humor, commenting that Kwon could have tried what SEVENTEEN S.Coups fans make fun of the idol, calling him several four-letter names (S.Coups is also a four-letter name in Korean).
It’s official: SEVENTEEN’s S.Coups picks his favorite nickname from the Internet
Regardless, most were offended by the stories and called out Kwon’s rudeness towards the pop star.
- “The whole thing oppa the comment is the worst part.
- “Fucking rude… Who does he think he is?”
- “I loved his concert so much, so this pisses me off even more. How dare you?”
- “The kind of person he is…”
- “How rude.”
- “Oppamy ass. It makes me want to vomit. Disgusting”
- “Ew.”
- “…”
- “Was he trying to use the nickname S.Coups? It failed…”
- “Ugh.”
Kwon has not responded to the criticism growing online.
