‘SNL Korea’ Parodies LE SSERAFIM & Other Idols’ Coachella Controversy in Latest Comedy Sketch

They parodied some of K-Pop’s biggest controversies from the past year.

Comedy show SNL KoreaThe latest episode invited the actor Kim Sung-Kyun as their guest actor. The problem arose when they decided to create a parody boy group called RICE. The members recreated some of the major K-Pop controversies of the past year. The show parodied THE SERAPHIMthe recent Coachella controversy, even going as far as calling their show “Goa-chella.” They also imitated Oh Yunjinhis way of exalting the audience.

Not only that, the show also created a controversial scenario for a member of RICE. They parodied ZEROBASEONE Jiwoongthe previous controversy in which he was accused of swearing before a video call with a fan.

In the Kim Jiwoong controversy, he was reportedly heard saying, “sybal” as soon as the camera was on. His agency denied the allegations.

The parodies have reached millions of views in clips on X. Many disagree with the show’s decision to recreate these moments which have become painful for both the idols and the fans involved.
