We recently confirmed that Taeil has been implicated in a criminal case related to sex crimes.
Analyzing the situation, we recognized that the problem is very serious and we decided that Taeil will no longer be able to continue the team’s activities. We discussed the matter with Taeil and it was decided that he will be removed from the group.
Currently, Taeil is faithfully cooperating with the police investigation. We will share additional statements as the investigation progresses.

Since then, further details of the case have been revealed as fans and members reacted to the news. The latest details of the case state that he has been returned to the prosecutor’s office without detention.

SM Entertainment also announced that it will begin deleting all mentions of the idol from NCT content, including that of the group NCTZONE game. Checking the label’s website, Taeil has not been listed on NCT’s roster and is currently listed as an individual “musician”.
However, there are still traces of Taeil in NCT content available for purchase.
