In August 2023, Lee signed an exclusive contract with them, which will expire in October 2024.
Before the deadline, the two sides discussed an extension of 1 year and six months after Si An received the casting for Single’s Inferno 4, writing a supplementary agreement.
“After sufficient discussions with her and her parents, Lee Si An signed a contract to appear Singles Hell 4 in May (last year) and filmed in June of the same year,” Leaders Entertainment added.
“However, soon after filming ended in August, she announced her intention to terminate her exclusivity contract. She told us through her manager that she would only be active until October 21st.”
Because the former Produce 48 participant agreed to an additional deal that extended his contract for another 18 months, the label claimed that he had violated the exclusivity contract and that his objection was unfounded.
“We are obtaining extensive evidence and taking legal action. After appearing on Single’s Inferno 4, she unilaterally notified us to stop her activities in disregard of the contract,” the company attested.
“It is an act that deceives both the company and the production workers. We will make sure that similar cases do not happen again.”
Meanwhile, before joining the reality dating show, Lee Si An initially tried to become a K-pop idol by joining audition survival shows such as Idol School in 2017 and Produce 48 in 2018.
