On January 21, Leaders Entertainment announced that it had filed a lawsuit against Lee Si-an, stating: “He violated his exclusivity contract and its terms. We will take legal action.”
The company explained: “Since August 2023, we have exclusively managed Lee Si-an’s businesses. In April last year, we formalized his appearance in ‘Single’s Inferno 4’ and drafted a supplemental agreement to extend his contract, which was originally due to expire on October 25 last year. The agreement extended the contract by 1 year and 6 months. After in-depth discussions with her and her parents, Lee Si-an signed the appearance contract for ‘Single’s Inferno 4’ in May and started filming in June of the same year. However, soon after filming ended in August, he suddenly expressed his intention to terminate the exclusivity contract and informed us through a representative that he would only work until October 21st..”
Leaders Entertainment pointed out that Lee Si-an’s request to terminate the contract constitutes a violation of both the original contract and the extended supplemental agreement. The agency said: “Your objections are not sufficiently justified. We have gathered substantial evidence and are taking legal action. Not fulfilling the contract after his appearance in ‘Single’s Inferno 4’ and unilaterally declaring his retirement from activities is an act of deception against both the company and the program’s production team. We are committed to preventing similar incidents in the future.”
Lee Si-an, who appeared in “Single’s Inferno 4” released on January 14, is a former girl group trainee and previously participated in Mnet’s audition shows “Idol School” (2017) and “Produce 48” ( 2018).
