According to Sina and ETtoday, the high-profile couple married in a luxurious private ceremony in Los Angeles in 2013, after years of an on-off relationship. Arissa, the daughter of a powerful Singaporean media mogul, faced stiff opposition from her father, but ultimately chose love over inheritance. Unfortunately, their tale quickly turned into a cautionary tale.
Just nine months into their marriage, Arissa filed for separation and later published a scathing letter accusing Vanness of five serious crimes that she said destroyed their union:
