SHINee’s Taemin talks about why he didn’t perform at SMTOWN concert

On January 11th and 12th, the SMTOWN LIVE in Seoul the concert took place at the Gocheok Sky Dome. For two nights, fans got to see all their favorite SM artists in one place.

This concert was even more special as it celebrated the company’s 30th anniversary and featured many familiar faces in the lineup!

However, SHINee fans were disappointed that they didn’t get to see all the members together.

Not long after, Taemin wrote a message to fans on Bubble.

“Did you sleep well? The weather is cold, so wear warm clothes, keep your neck warm and drink something warm as the cold weather is starting to set in. I’m writing this for fans who may be worried about SHINee. I’m sorry I can’t being able to attend SHINee during the SMTOWN concert. I wanted to finish negotiations with the company and join SHINee’s activities quickly, but it seems like it will take some time to sort things out. But we are making progress and it seems like it will end soon.

Myself and the other members want to protect SHINee and continue our story together. So if you think I don’t want to do SHINee or you’re worried that you won’t be able to watch SHINee anymore, please don’t worry. I hope what I say doesn’t become a burden to anyone else. All members love SHINee and have the same heart. We are working carefully to prepare for SHINee, so let’s see you soon with smiling faces. Have a nice day and thank you always.”

Seeing this, fans were shocked that Taemin had to apologize for this situation.

• “The problem is the company… Unfortunately it went to that company. Of course, I’m sure he didn’t know the company would be like this.
• “The members of this group are all sincere about the team.”
• “It seems Taemin also wanted to participate in SHINee’s activities.”
• “Why is Taemin explaining to me again… this makes me so angry.”

Meanwhile, Taemin has signed with BPM entertainment last year, starting SM Entertainment after 16 years.
