SHINee’s Key, real name Kim Kibum, donated 50 million won (~$34,000) to a children’s hospital, receiving in-kind gratitude from recipients.

The idol contributed to Kyungpook National University Children’s Hospital on December 30, when the hospital hosted a donation ceremony that afternoon to fund the treatment of pediatric patients.

The sizable donation will support children battling various illnesses, providing much-needed relief to families struggling to afford medical expenses. Key’s mother also works as a nurse at the facility, and the idol was photographed with her during his donation to the organization.

In 2019, Key donated 10 million KRW (~$6,800) to the Chilgok Kyungpook National University Hospital in Daegu, where he is from, once again earmarked for pediatric medical expenses.

In 2023, Key’s nobility benefactors force sharing stories through comments on DdeunDdeun’s YouTube channel.

One commenter revealed that Key had quietly covered the non-reimbursable costs of their son’s leukemia medications, expressing their eternal gratitude.

“SHINee’s Key, thank you so much for supporting my son’s treatment. It was a significant expense, but your help gave him the chance to live well. We are infinitely grateful,” they wrote.
