It is common for K-pop stars to drop out of college to focus on their careers, considering the hectic schedules and time conflicts.
Surprisingly, there are idols who have taken the road less traveled. With their efforts to continue their studies, they underlined the importance of education and demonstrated that they can continue their studies even while working.

TVXQ Changmin

Changmin is among the idols with an impressive educational background. Not only did he complete his master’s degree from Inha University, but he also has a PhD!
Besides that, he also has a double degree. He attended one of Korea’s most prestigious schools, Kyunghee University, and majored in postmodern music.
For his second degree, he studied film and art at Konkuk University.

Among the current members of BIGBANG “Kings of K-pop”, G-Dragon has a master’s degree in content and retail distribution from Sejong University, while Taeyang holds a postgraduate diploma from Daejin University in Production of performances and images.

Among boy groups, SHINee is the only one where all members have post-graduate degrees!
Leader Onew is a practical music virtuoso from Chungwoon University, while the late Jonghyun and their maknae Taemin earned advanced degrees in film and music studies from Myongji University.
Key has a master’s degree in cultural and educational content development from Woosuk University, while Minho has a master’s degree in film acting.

Xiumin has one in music from Kwandong Catholic University. He is also said to be currently pursuing his PhD.
Suho earned a master’s degree in Cultural Management, while Baekhyun and DO would earn their MBAs.
Chanyeol, however, went to Inha University to get a master’s degree in interior design.
Finally, Chen has a master’s degree in Advertising Media.

In 2017, Jin entered Hanyang Cyber University Graduate School. RM, Suga, J-HOPE, Jimin and V, entered this year’s Advertising Media MBA program at Hanyang Cyber University as freshmen!!

As of 2024, six members of BTS, excluding Jungkook, have completed their bachelor programs.
Jin earned all his credentials in filmmaking, while the others earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Hanyang Cyber University.
TWICE Tzuyu
Just recently it was revealed that Tzuyu had a master’s degree in applied psychology.
It is reported that he completed his degree from the European University Miguel de Cervantes through their online course.
She is one of the few, if not the first, female idol to have a college degree.
