On October 29, Seungkwan took to his personal Instagram to speak out the recent controversy surrounding HYBE’s leaked internal “music industry report.” The SEVENTEEN member expressed his dismay and empathy towards those affected, speaking openly about the situation and the effect it has had on the industry.
He underlined the importance of respect and unity within K-popespecially for those who invest time and passion in their art, regardless of the agency they belong to. “You have no right to easily intrude into our narrative,” Seungkwan wrote. “Not only us, but also other artists, we are not your objects. I hope you don’t think you can use and enjoy us to your heart’s content.”
“All our physical energy is drained by even just a week of music show promotions“, he added. “Although in the meantime they also deal with advertising, events, shows and other scheduled activities, there are many colleagues these days who greet me warmly and with an even more smile than me. Every time this happens, I smile and wave at them. That’s all I can do for them.”

With approximately 20 pages of this 18,000-page report leaked online, the doc’s unverified rumors, criticisms of appearances and abilities, and strategic discussions of viral marketing tactics against competing artists they also sparked widespread outrage.
