SEVENTEEN member Hoshi released his first all-English solo track, “Fallen Superstar,” on November 11 at 6 PM KST, marking his latest musical venture about two months after his previous solo release.
The song arrived as both a digital single and accompanying music video through Pledis Entertainment, the label operating under HYBE Music Group.
The track tells the story narrative about two emotionally wounded individuals who discover comfort and warmth through their connection despite their personal difficulties. The composition blends contrasting musical elements, with fast-paced percussion paired with expressive guitar melodies, while Hoshi’s nuanced vocals infuse the piece with emotional depth and poetic intensity.
International music industry professionals contributed to the creation of the single. These include singer-songwriter Andrew Goldstein, recognized for his work with prominent artists including Maroon 5 and Katy Perry, who collaborated on the track alongside American singer-songwriter JXDN, who received nominations at the MTV Video Music Awards. This marks Hoshi’s debut in English-language solo releases since his professional debut, expanding his reach to global audiences.
The music video features the theme of the song elements through a refined visual narrative, which describes concepts of falling in love and love through sophisticated cinematography. The promotional teaser, unveiled at midnight before release, showed inverted images of a fractured guitar and Hoshi falling into space. Additionally, the teaser featured a guitar pick engraved with the phrase “You’re just a Fallen Superstar” along with a sample of the song’s melody, generating greater anticipation among fans ahead of the full release.
Hoshi has steadily expanded his musical portfolio beyond SEVENTEEN group efforts and collaborative unit projects. His September release “TAKE A SHOT” achieved considerable commercial success, earning top positions on the iTunes World Songs chart. Throughout his solo career, he has released several songs such as “Damage” featuring Timbaland, “I Want You Back” and “STAY”, each demonstrating various musical styles and artistic directions.
The singer currently it helps on active military duty, having enlisted for mandatory service in September. His discharge is scheduled for March 15, 2027. Despite this military commitment, Hoshi continues to fulfill solo artistic obligations, maintaining his presence in the music industry through strategically timed releases.
