A few days ago, SEVENTEEN announced an official collaboration with DJ Khaled. It is featured on the title track “LOVE, MONEY, FAME” from the group’s upcoming album EXPERIENCE THE FEELINGS.

Longtime CARAT (SEVENTEEN fans) couldn’t contain their disappointment upon hearing the news. Many are even thinking of boycotting the new song.

CARAT are worried about DJ Khaled’s reputation as he is not a good person. Although his parents are Palestinian immigrants, he lived a luxurious lifestyle and remained silent while a genocide was taking place in Palestine. According to Al Jazeera, since October 2023, at least 41,788 people in Palestine (many of whom were innocent children, women, etc.) have been killed, 96,794 are injured, and over 10,000 are missing due to Israeli attacks.

Many CARATs are also alarmed by DJ Khaled’s ties to Zionist organizations and people, such as Brown Scooteras well as Sean “Diddy” Combswho is currently facing serious charges of sexual assault, rape, pedophilia and more.

DJ Khaled also has a history of being openly sexist and misogynistic. He said a lot of old-fashioned things about women and men.

As a result, some CARATs are boycotting the upcoming title track. Many are worried that SEVENTEEN’s collaboration with DJ Khaled will taint their good image.

Shortly after the announcement, SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi shared a compilation video of himself from various interviews, naming DJ Khaled as a dream collaboration via Instagram Stories. Hoshi tagged DJ Khaled and added a greeting emoji.

Many CARATs were immensely disappointed following Hoshi’s post, feeling he hadn’t “read the room” amid their outrage over the collaboration.

Some CARATs feel that they are not necessarily capable of “defending” Hoshi. They think that many K-Pop idols have strange obsessions with grassroots Western artists.
