Seunghan’s exit from RIIZE fuels tension between international and Korean BRIIZE: ‘Everyone is going crazy’

Following the news of Seunghan’s departure from RIIZE, the idol’s exit caused a huge stir within the K-pop community.

In an online forum on October 14, it appeared that further chaos had erupted between the international and Korean BRIIZEs.

The post’s author claimed that international fans mistreated a minor fan and others who expressed liking RIIZE as an OT6 stan.

“They found and mocked the personal information of an underage fan. They have already reached 30,000 retweets and over 3 million views.”

“They revealed her identity and are making fun of her selfies, revealing everything about her.”

“And the reason they’re doing this is because the fan said she liked OT6. It’s shocking.”

The thread kept mentioning how much Seunghan’s departure made waves among international fans compared to Korea.

OP stated that people were angry due to SM’s handling of the overall situation since Seunghan was brought back after a long hiatus, but was dropped from the group shortly after.

The author also highlighted the “excessive” protest methods of “K-fans”.

The post also shared that RIIZE lost around 80,000 followers in one day. OP also included reaction tweets from Japanese BRIIZE, which showed polarizing opinions towards Korean fans.

K-fans commented on the post:

  • “The Cockroaches will never understand the feeling of Korean fans.”
  • “They just make noise. They never spend anything, so nobody cares.”
  • “Cockroaches always react the same way. How can they be called fans?”

On the other hand, the post also garnered reactions from international fans on the thread and on platform X (formerly Twitter).

  • “Bullying will never be okay, but it’s crazy to see these people act like Seunghan’s bullying is okay since they buy RIIZE products.”
  • “Both are wrong. The Internet has made everyone brave and has made them lose their morals.”
  • “Everyone is going crazy, but this won’t bring him back to the group.”
  • “Both fans are the same. K-pop fans sharing the same brain cells is nothing new at all.”
