The spring edition/summer of 2026 of the Seoul Fashion Week began on Monday along the Stonewall path of the Deoksu Palace in the Soul Center, a departure from its long-standing headquarters to Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) from 1-7 September 2025. The transition to a historical, influential and official frame of the cities, underlining the mixture of tradition and modern events.
Despite a 30-minute rain delay, the contemporary brand Andersson Bell delivered a full house for its parade, which presented the stars of K-Pop Ive’s Gaeul, Hueningkai of Tomorrow X Together, and Ian and Jiwoo of Girl Group Hearts2hearts among the participants.
Ian & Jewoo, Ian and Jiwoo, Ive’s Fall, Tomorrow X Together, Jeon Ji-Woo and J.Sep Card, Hyorin, Lee Jin-Hyuk singers, the comedian Lee Eun-Ji and the actors Lee Chun-Hee and Jeon Hye-Jin, Maeil News Reports also attended the event.
Andersson Bell’s S/S 2026 collection, under the “Soft Clash” theme, drew inspiration from Mark Rothko’s color paintings and “twisted attitudes” of the icons of the 90s PJ Harvey and Jarvis Cocker. The collection aimed to explore harmony between contrasting elements.
According to the officials of the city, the purpose of the event was to “exhibit K-Fashion, which combines young people, energy, technology and art, in an environment that shows off the colored Soul pendants”.
Hosted by the Metropolitan government of Seoul, the white event marks its 25th anniversary this year. The S/S edition will last on Sunday, with shows and installations that extend to cultural reference points such as the Park of Culture of the oil tank in the Western Temple of Seoul and Heungcheon in the center of Seoul.
A total of 27 domestic designer brands will present their collections in all places, including DDP, EQL Flagship Store in Seongsu-Dong and independent boutiques. From Thursday to Saturday, 74 brands will also participate in a commercial exhibition at the DDP, connecting with national and international buyers.
The launch of Palace Runway reports the efforts of the Soul Fashion Week to expand its cultural imprint, combining the global ambitions of Korea’s fashion with the historical identity of the city.
