Running Manthe long-running variety show loved by fans across Asia, was awarded the Most Popular Program Award at the 2025 SBS Entertainment Awards held on December 30 at the SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Seoul.
Hosted by Jeon Hyun-moo, Cha Tae-hyun and Lee Soo-ji, the ceremony recognized a year of extraordinary entertainment content. The most popular program award was a highly competitive category, with nominees included Our ballad, Seojin’s, Whenever we can, Shooting stars, My old man, My turn, Same bed, different dreams 2AND Dolsing four men. In the end, Running Man emerged victorious.
Ji Suk-jin, the longest-serving cast member along with Yoo Jae-suk, accepted the award on behalf of the team. He thanked the production crew, saying: “The staff has worked really hard this year.” Then he added ironically: “I don’t know why I’m so nervous right now. It’s not like there’s anything serious going on, but maybe I was getting ahead of myself.” His comment brought laughter from the audience.
He continued with a light joke, “We won so many awards tonight that I’m starting to wonder if we’re skipping the Grand Prix.” He concluded by saying that he would now relax and enjoy the rest of the show.
Song Ji-hyo also expressed sincere gratitude, saying: “I hope next year brings only moments full of laughter.”
At the end, Yoo Jae-suk bowed deeply as he thanked the fans: “Thank you so much to the viewers who loved it Running Man for so long.” Then he made a touching statement that drew huge applause from the audience: “I don’t know who will win the Grand Prix, but I personally hope it goes to Suk-jin hyung.”
YooJae-suk’s genuine support for Ji Suk-jin, often affectionately called “Suk-sam” by fans, capped off an emotional and celebratory evening for the Running Man family.
