RIIZE plummets in the brand reputation rankings

Fans were surprised by the sharp drop.

For years, the Korean Brand Reputation Research Institute released monthly brand reputation rankings for Korean celebrities in several categories, including boy/girl groups as a whole and their members. The lists are said to reflect which K-Pop groups and idols are the most popular at any given time based on data collected, determining how much they are discussed online and how much they are “worth” in terms of advertising.

For example, the list below shows the top five girl groups for the tracking period of 9/10 to 9/11 of 2024 with BLACKPINK as the top group.

Depending on their activities, groups will move up and down the lists, but groups with ongoing promotions and advertising will usually stay at the top.

RIIZE is a group that, throughout 2024, has mostly remained in the top positions of the charts.

This continued in the chart from 9/9 to 9/10, when the group ranked 11th in the charts.

On November 9, the latest brand reputation list was released and RIIZE’s unexpected change was revealed. The group was no longer listed in the top ten, and while this type of fluctuation was entirely predictable, their new position raised eyebrows.

RIIZE came in at 35 on this latest list, dropping over 20 spots.

Many were surprised to see RIIZE, who released their repackage album REIZATION in early September and brand ambassadors have been announced for National geographic at the end of August, make a sharp decline.

Fans have linked the drop in rankings to boycott efforts by those calling for Seunghan’s return to the group.
