Red Velvet’s Wendy Will Not Attend SMTown’s 30th Anniversary Concert, Follows Taeyeon’s Footsteps

Red Velvet’s Wendy is the latest idol to leave SM Entertainment’s 30th anniversary concert.

Online ticket booking site Melon Ticket announced the lineup change for “SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in SEOUL” on January 6.

“Wendy from Red Velvet will not appear at SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in SEOUL for personal reasons,” the announcement reads.

“We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the cast change. Cancellations and refunds for this reason can be made without penalty by contacting the ticket booking site’s customer service center.”

Wendy’s cancellation follows in the footsteps of Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, who announced her plans to leave the concert to fans in a livestream before officially announcing her move through the label.

The SMTown concert, which will take place at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, will be held on January 11th and 12th.

The lineup features all SM artists, including Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon, SHINee’s Key and Minho, EXO’s Suho and Chanyeol, Red Velvet (excluding Wendy), NCT 127, NCT DREAM, WayV , aespa, RISE , NCT WISH, nævis and Raiden.

In addition, SMTR25, a group of 25 trainees, Mar Vista, SM Jazz Trio, Min Ji Woon and other artists from SM’s subsidiary labels will also perform, as well as some artists from the SMTOWN family who have been working with SM for nearly three decades.
