Red Velvet Irene’s recent fansign event turned into a “nightmare” for a fan after a guard allegedly touched her private part during inspection.

On Dec. 9, one ReVeluv belatedly explained on social media that her friend, who is also a Red Velvet fan, was sexually assaulted by a security guard before going on stage.

The incident occurred during Irene’s fansign at Ktown4U on the 7th. The OP explained that her friend was summoned by the guards after she was suspected of carrying a hidden camera, which is prohibited while interacting with the celebrity .

At the time the guard did not just search his padded jacket harshly, but made “unreasonable demands” during the inspection.

“He asked me to roll up my sleeve even though it was already up to my elbow. He (also) told me to jump up and down,” the victim said in a message to the uploader.

“He asked her if he could touch her chest. However, from the perspective of a fan who should follow the staff unconditionally to avoid being kicked out, how many fans can confidently say, ‘Don’t touch my body?’ added the victim’s friend.

The OP insisted that although the guard did not directly touch her friend’s chest and instead used the back of his hand, they questioned the need for such an inspection as if they were treating them like criminals.

As the post spread online, fans sympathized with the victim and recalled similar experiences. Netizens blamed SM Entertainment and asked to respect the basic human rights and privacy of fangirls.
