According to a report from Star News on January 14, Yulhee does not agree with all the reasons for divorce put forward by her ex-husband Choi Min-hwan. At the beginning of the 13th, Choi Min-hwan had an interview with Dispatch, who revealed that the reason why they divorced was Yul-hee’s excessive napping and frequent escapes from home. She also denied the prostitution charges.
In particular, Choi Min-hwan revealed that Yul-hee slept 18~20 hours a day and ran away to her parents’ house for up to 10 days. However, Yul-hee dismissed the claims via Star News, stating “That means I was only awake 4 hours a day. It makes absolutely no sense.” She also found it difficult to understand why Choi Min-hwan used the expression “running away from home” when the fact was that she took their children to her parents’ house after having conflicts with him. Yul-hee also refuted Choi Min-hwan’s claim regarding her negligence in parenting.
According to Star News, Yulhee remained silent following Choi Min-hwan’s revelations. He has already prepared an official statement but reportedly told his agency he did not want to publish it for fear of stirring up public opinion. Furthermore, he believed that Choi Min-hwan’s one-sided statements were not worth responding to. It has been confirmed that the video posted on his YouTube channel on the 13th is also pre-planned content, so it has nothing to do with Choi Min-hwan’s revelations. Yulhee’s side stated: “Yul-hee just wants to focus on custody,” adding “In consideration of the children, we have decided to discuss these issues in court instead of making official statements.”
Yul-hee is reportedly considering taking legal action. He filed a lawsuit in the Seoul Family Court against Choi Min-hwan to request a change in custody, alimony and property division. According to Article 10 of the Family Disputes Law, cases handled by the Family Court cannot be exposed to the media.
Meanwhile, Choi Min-hwan and Yul-hee got married in 2018. The two have a son and two daughters. However, they announced their divorce in December 2023, and Choi Min-hwan took custody of their three children. Last year, Yul-hee revealed a transcript of Choi Min-hwan visiting adult entertainment venues during their wedding. Subsequently, Choi Min-hwan was accused of prostitution and forcible molestation, but the police cleared his charges due to lack of evidence.
