They were doing well until recently, with rumors circulating that they were getting a divorce. This speculation began in June after commentator Lee Kwang Gil accidentally brought up the subject while chatting with the commentator during the baseball game break.
The remark was even broadcast live on YouTube, causing the issue to escalate. In this regard, Jiyeon’s closest associates stated bluntly:
“The divorce rumors are unfounded.”
Regarding the photos of Hwang at the bar, the informant explained:
“As the oldest player on KT Wiz, I find it incomprehensible that a married man can drink with a woman until dawn during a major season and before the fall baseball season.”

When the matter sparked further speculation and criticism, an official from Hwang’s team clarified that he had not interrupted the match by drinking until dawn, saying:
“When we asked Hwang Jae Gyun, he confirmed that he came to Seoul after the Daejeon match on August 31 and drank alcohol until the morning of September 1. That day was a rest day, with no matches or training.”
However, they refused to comment on the athlete’s statements while drinking in the company of other women.
“It is true that they had a party with alcohol, but it is difficult to give a specific answer as to who was with him, etc., as this is a private matter for the player.”

Meanwhile, as the story of Hwang Jae Gyun being seen drinking spreads, attention is increasingly focused on the relationship between the two.
Jiyeon has remained silent following the rumors of her divorce, but according to the Korean News Agency, the idol is busy preparing to resume her activities as a YouTuber. In 2019, she began pursuing a career as a content creator amid T-ARA’s inactivity.
