On October 9, video creator Park We and former SECRET member Song Ji-eun held their wedding ceremony in Seoul. Park We gained attention for overcoming full-body paralysis due to a fall and for his relationship with Song Ji-eun, founded on their shared Christian faith.
As a video creator, Park We shared footage of the wedding on his channel, “Weracle,” where his brother’s speech raised eyebrows.
Park Ji-woo introduced himself as “the eternal brother-in-law of the bride, Song Ji-eun,” and went on to share how their family faced hardships following his brother’s diagnosis of total paralysis 10 years ago.
He expressed concern for his brother’s well-being, “I didn’t want my brother to get frustrated or annoyed.” He then recounted an incident involving his brother and Song Ji-eun at the gym, where he humorously described a situation related to bodily functions, imitating Song Ji-eun sniffing the air.
Park Ji-woo concluded, “For me, disability is a strong bond that unites our family. My brother tied my sister-in-law tightly with that bond. Thank you for becoming part of our family and congratulations on your wedding!”
Although her speech aimed to convey appreciation, it sparked a backlash when shared online, with critics questioning the necessity of certain phrases and deeming the imitation of Song Ji-eun’s reaction mocking. Some netizens expressed discomfort in discussing bodily functions in front of a crowd, while others defended the couple, claiming that the public’s reaction was overly sensitive.
