On the morning of December 9, the press conference of the second season of the Netflix series “Squid Game” was held at the Art Hall of Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Eulji-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk was joined by actors Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Wi Ha-joon, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-wook, Park Sung-hoon , Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-shim, Lee Seo-hwan and Jo Yu-ri.

Park Sung-hoon introduced his character Hyun-ju, “She is a transgender person who wishes to undergo gender affirmation surgery but cannot afford it, which leads her to enter the game. He is an upright, selfless, courageous and leadership person.”

Im Si-wan described his character Myung-gi as “a cryptocurrency investment expert who becomes entangled in a crypto scam, causing huge losses to his subscribers. Fleeing from his creditors, he joins the game out of desperation“. Kang Ha-neul talked about his role Dae-ho, “He is a sociable and overly friendly boy. After hearing Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) mention that he has played the game before, he begins to follow it and experiments with various situations. Please also expect the chemistry between Dae-ho and Jung-bae (Lee Seo-hwan).

Park Gyu-young introduced his character No-eul as “a mother desperately searching for her lost daughter. She struggles with guilt over losing her son and is determined to be reunited with her son. Please watch the show to see the choices he makes to earn the money he needs“. Lee Jin-wook described his character as “the most ordinary participant in the game. He steps in to pay for his daughter’s medical care as she battles pediatric cancer. He is a pitiful and heartbreaking character“.

The second season of “Squid Game” tells the story of Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who returns to the deadly game seeking revenge, and his confrontation with the enigmatic Front Man (Lee Byung-hun). The series will premiere on Netflix on December 26.
