Actor Park Si-hoo has sent a strong comeback signal with his latest film Choir of Godchoosing to address lingering personal controversies through tangible box office results rather than loud declarations.
Recently, Park has been quietly sharing snapshots of her daily life and filming sets via social media. In the photos, her noticeably more refined appearance and sharper facial features caught the public’s attention, prompting comments such as “Its vibe seems different”, “It’s a carefully managed look”, AND “He seems changed.” The subtle image change naturally brought attention back to his long-awaited comeback project.
From January 26th Choir of Godstarring Park Si-hoo, surpassed 600,000 cumulative viewers in its fourth week of release. Released on December 31, 2025, the film managed to hold its own against Hollywood blockbusters and domestic new releases, an impressive feat achieved in just 25 days.
What stands out is the film’s sustained momentum during its fourth week, a period when audience numbers typically decline. Despite limited screen allocations, the film maintained a high seat occupancy rate, fueled by family audiences and repeat viewers. Word of mouth continues to spread, and viewers describe it as “a film that you end up recommending” AND “a good choice to watch with parents.”
The enthusiasm offline was also palpable. After reaching the milestone of 600,000 viewers, Park Si-hoo joined director Kim Hyung-hyup and co-stars, including Jung Jin-woon, for stage farewells in Seoul and the Gyeonggi region. The cast visited several sold-out movie theaters, where cheers and applause filled the venues as they personally thanked the audience.
The film’s unique premise, centering on a North Korean security officer who forms a fake propaganda orchestra, combined with its humanistic narrative and strong musical elements, is being considered the basis for its potential long-term run.

Meanwhile, Park Si-hoo directly addressed the “business brokering” allegations raised last year. A woman had claimed on social media that he had introduced another woman to a married acquaintance, allegedly leading to the breakup of the family. Park strongly denied the claims, saying they were “clearly false” and underlining that legal proceedings are currently underway. He explained that while he initially chose not to respond due to the unfounded nature of the allegations, his agency decided that official action was necessary. “If there was something to hide I would feel anxious but there isn’t” he said.
Marking his first major film comeback in a decade, Park Si-hoo has now received his verdict not in words, but in numbers. As it continues to move forward amid controversy, industry observers are closely watching how far this box office return will take it.
