Set to premiere on January 17, 2026, tvN Undercover’s new weekend drama Miss Hong is a retro office comedy set in the late ’90s. Written by Moon Hyun-kyung and directed by Park Seon-ho, the series follows Hong Geum-bo (played by Park Shin-hye), a sharp and elite financial supervisor in his thirties who goes undercover as a twenty-year-old entry-level employee at a securities brokerage firm after suspicious financial activity is detected.
The drama has already generated strong anticipation thanks to the collaboration between Park Shin-hye, widely considered a reliable box office attraction, and tvN. The cast also includes Go Kyung-pyo, Ha Yoon-kyung and Cho Han-gyeol, promising strong ensemble chemistry. Raising expectations is director Park Seon-ho, known for hits like Wok of Love, Business Proposal and Suspicious Partner, who is set to bring a new twist to the retro office comedy genre.
Explaining her decision to accept the role, Park Shin-hye said she was attracted to the project because it explores a period she had never portrayed before. She noted that the story seemed particularly compelling since it is set in a time when women’s social and professional success was far from guaranteed. “The idea of Hong Geum-bo, an ace from the Financial Supervision Service, masquerading as a low-ranking employee really seemed intriguing and fascinating to me,” he said.
Park Shin-hye also expressed affection for her character, describing Hong Geum-bo as honest and tenacious, someone who survived intense competition through sheer determination. He added that despite the patriarchal social atmosphere of the time, Geum-bo never holds back, instead moving forward with confidence and demonstrating his skills, qualities he sees as the character’s greatest appeal.
Another important point, according to Park Shin-hye, lies in the relationships between the characters. He pointed out that the dynamics between the members of the Financial Supervision Service, the crisis management team of Hanmin Securities, and especially the four housemates living in dormitory 301, will be a key source of entertainment for viewers. He concluded by encouraging the audience to look forward to seeing whether Geum-bo can successfully complete his nerve-wracking undercover mission and what fate awaits Hanmin Securities.
