On January 14, a video titled “Park Shin Hye’s New Year Worry Advice for Overworked Employees” was uploaded to the YouTube channel “YouTube Ha Ji-young”. In the video, Park Shin Hye appeared as a guest offering heartfelt advice to people struggling with work-related anxiety.
During the conversation, the concern of a first-year employee was shared, describing how thoughts about work continued even after the shutdown, making it difficult to sleep. Host Ha Ji-young empathized, recalling her early days in her career, when she would suddenly wake up due to stress. Park Shin Hye agrees, saying: “I always dreamed of being on set all the time, too.”
When Ha Ji-young mentioned Park Shin Hye’s early praise as Choi Ji-woo’s younger counterpart in stairway to Heaventhe actress explained that being a child actor was different. He then recalled his first real leading role in the 2006 drama Tree of Paradisewhere he starred alongside Lee Wan. “Until then, I had only played younger versions. That was the first time I acted under my own name, as actress Park Shin Hye,” he said.

She went on to describe how the pressure of taking on a project for the first time weighed heavily on her. “Sometimes I was scolded on set and the responsibility seemed overwhelming. I once fell asleep briefly while switching between takes, but even in my dream I was still filming. I remember waking up suddenly and acting in my sleep,” he shared. At the time, he was transitioning from his freshman to sophomore year of high school, around the age of 17-18.

Park Shin Hye added that making mistakes is inevitable, regardless of passion or effort. “Everyone makes mistakes, especially at the beginning of their career. What matters is to accept them and fix them quickly. If you don’t know what to do, I think the best solution is to ask right away.” he advised.

Addressing another concern about losing confidence after being fired, Park Shin Hye encouraged perseverance and self-care. “Don’t give up on personal development. Get out there, keep exercising and stay healthy. You need that strength to seize new opportunities.” he said. She also shared her experience of voluntarily taking time off in her twenties to attend school, despite fears of work drying up. “I was scared, especially because I didn’t even have an agency at the time. But as I focused on what I chose to do, good opportunities eventually came back to me.” he recalled.
Meanwhile, Park Shin Hye will return to television with the tvN drama Miss Hong undercoverwhich will debut on January 17, marking another chapter in his long and constantly evolving career.
