A leaked phone call between comedian Park Na Rae and her former manager has raised fresh questions about the ongoing dispute over abuse of power after she revealed an emotional reconciliation that was later denied by the manager.
YouTuber Lee Jin Ho posted the audio recording on January 9, 2026, which captured a conversation that occurred around 1:40 a.m. on December 8, 2025, shortly before the two met in person. The recording shows Park Na Rae and her former manager comforting each other through tears during what appeared to be a genuine attempt at reconciliation.
In the leaked audio, Park Na Rae asks her former manager, “Are you okay?” to which the director responds sobbing: “I don’t know how things turned out like this,” second Koreaboo.
The couple continued to cry throughout the conversation as they discussed Park’s dog, Bokdori, and the manager expressed anger towards someone identified as “Lee”, referring to Park’s promotional agent Na Rae. The manager also scolded Park Na Rae for smoking despite her previous surgeries and admitted to being drunk during the call
The recording contradicts the manager’s later claims about the nature of their meeting. After the three-hour meeting that morning, Park Na Rae posted on social media that they had cleared up misunderstandings and resolved their conflicts, chosun reported.
However, the manager later refuted this claim, claiming there was no sincere apology or agreement and accused Park Na Rae of being drunk during their meeting. The leaked audio reveals that it was actually the manager who admitted to drinking that night
Park Na Rae’s KakaoTalk messages show her confusion after the manager’s attitude completely changed around 2pm the same day. In the messages, Park wrote that she felt the meeting had cleared up their misunderstandings, but was scared and confused by the manager’s lawyer who had sent an aggressive settlement proposal demanding a response within hours.
The revelations have sparked mixed reactions online. Many netizens now believe that the manager may have acted maliciously, and some commented that it seems that the manager was planning to escalate the situation in advance. Others expressed sympathy for Park Na Rae, pointing out that she seemed desperate to resolve the dispute in a humane way.
Park Na Rae is currently engaged in a legal dispute with her former managers, who have accused her of workplace harassment, aggravated assault and illegal medical practices. The former managers filed for provisional seizure of Park’s Itaewon property, which was granted by the court. Park Na Rae responded with charges including attempted extortion and embezzlement, denying all allegations of mistreatment, as per Korea JoongAng Daily.​
