Bom Parkmember of iconic girl group 2NE1, has sparked major controversy by announcing legal action against Yang Hyun Suk, the founder of YG Entertainment. The announcement came via a cryptic Instagram post shared on October 22, in which Bom Park accused Yang of fraud and embezzlement, claiming he had not paid his fair share of profits from his entertainment businesses over the years (but the post was later deleted).
In the photo he uploaded – labeled “From Park Bom” – the singer declared herself as the plaintiff and Yang as the defendant. She accused him of withholding revenue from album sales, performances, broadcasts, advertising, songwriting and more. The post called for an investigation and legal consequences.
Bom Park she went on to claim that YG Entertainment never provided a financial breakdown or issued her any payment for her work, resulting in severe financial and emotional distress. He stated that the total unpaid amount was approx “1002003004006007001000034 ‘64272e’ trillion won” — a series of numbers that quickly raised eyebrows online.
The figure appears meaningless, as it equates to an unthinkable $700 non-billion (700,459,999,999,999,972,703,559,225,442,304), making it physically and economically impossible. The bizarre figure, along with the use of an unofficial document format and the presence of a potentially personal phone number, led many netizens to question the authenticity and intent of the post.
Reactions online ranged from confusion to concern, with some fans commenting, “What’s going on?” AND “It seems like a joke” while others expressed concern Bom Parkit is well-being.
At this time, YG Entertainment has not issued a response, nor has D-Nation, Bom Parkthe agency. Attempts to contact them for clarification reportedly went unanswered.
Bom Park is currently on hiatus from all official activities after her agency announced in August that she was retiring for health reasons. His last public appearance occurred during halftime of a football match on August 3 in Seoul. Despite the hiatus, she has remained active on social media, often updating fans.
It’s unclear whether this lawsuit is legitimate or simply a moment of frustration, but it has certainly sparked widespread attention and speculation.
