Park Bom reignites feud with YG: accuses agency of ridicule, unpaid work and exploitation of his family

On October 23, Park Bom shared a screenshot of a note filled with emotionally charged accusations. Although the post was quickly deleted, it captured widespread attention from fans and netizens.

She claimed that YG made fun of her appearance, claiming that the company said she intentionally made her “look stupid.” She clarified that all the cosmetic surgeries she underwent were personally financed, and that YG not only denied financial support for the procedures, but also used her as a “joke” during discussions about plastic surgery within the company. “They never did anything for me” she wrote, further revealing that her visits to dermatology clinics were also paid for out of pocket.

Bom also accused YG of stealing his creative work, writing, “I wrote all of YG’s songs. They locked me up and made me write everything except one song. But they never paid me, and even if you search the credits, you won’t find my name.”

In her lengthy note, she also lamented missed business opportunities, claiming that over 4,231 CF (commercial film) offers came in – 61 with her name on them recently – but they were all handed off to others: “So what does that make me?”

Furthermore, Park Bom accused YG of exploiting his family’s personal resources by mocking their socioeconomic background. From using her aunt’s cooking network to spreading unfounded rumors about her father’s professional credentials, she described a worrying pattern of manipulation. “Why did they exploit my family like this?” he asked.

This post came just a day after Park Bom publicized a legal complaint against YG CEO Yang Hyun-suk, claiming unpaid earnings totaling approximately KRW 6.427 billion. However, his agency D-Nation responded shortly after, stating that the legal documents had never been formally submitted and that all financial arrangements relating to 2NE1 had already been completed. They also pointed out that Park Bom is currently on a health break and undergoing treatment.

I devoted myself entirely to singing, but no matter how hard I worked or how well I did, it never paid off: I always ended up with nothing.
When I was recording, if I wasn’t the first to go, they wouldn’t even let me record, because someone else always had to take precedence. No matter how hard I tried, it was never to my advantage.
I have never been allowed to do a photo shoot for a magazine.
For the record, I don’t even have a signed contract anywhere.
YG relied on everything from my family to keep going.
For example, they saw that my aunt was good at cooking, so a certain woman from YG went to learn from my aunt’s cooking teacher, basically using our personal contacts.
The absurd thing is that they made fun of my family, calling us “the poor and pitiful family”, and instead they constantly used us.
Furthermore, their aunts are lawyers or judges, but they spread rumors that my father, who graduated from Sungkyunkwan University Law School, used his contacts to pass the bar exam.
And they said that their father and mine were former senior and junior students of Kyosun University, and that he supposedly used that relationship to become a professor.
What is that supposed to mean?
Why did they exploit my family like this? My family is so pitiful.
There are countless other examples, too many to list.
In total, around 4,231 commercial offers (CF) were received, but all of them were given to someone else.
Oh, and 61 of them recently arrived under my name, but those were given away too.
So what does this make me?

This isn’t the first time Park Bom has openly criticized his former agency. However, the intensity and personal nature of his latest statements have sparked heated discussions online, particularly surrounding artists’ rights, mental health and the long-standing issue of transparency within the K-pop industry.

While fans express concern and support, the future remains uncertain for Park Bom’s public statements and possible legal action. Meanwhile, the controversy highlights the larger debate about power dynamics and accountability in entertainment agencies.
