They were guided by “personal fantasies” and the desire for “validation” by their peers.
Over 100 men were arrested after being surprised to produce and distribute the deepfake porn content of over 100 female stars, including k-pop idols, actresses and streamers.
Gyeongi’s northern police officer revealed that 23 people who managed private chat room on Telegram had been accused of violation of the Act on the protection of children and young people against sexual crimes and the Special act on the punishment of the crimes of sexual violence.
Of these, 13 have been formally loaded and detained. Another 60 users who participated in these chat rooms were also identified and arrested.
The main suspect, a 30 -year -old man called “Mr. A”, according to what has been reported, created over 1,100 Deepfake videos between August last year and March this year. The videos focused on about 30 celebrities, many of whom were members of groups of girls. These were therefore shared inside secret telegrams channels, often targeting other “fans”.
According to reports, some members of the chat room have used videos to sexually derive celebrities or even taken obscene photos in the events of the signs of fans using rituals of natural -size idols.
Another suspicion, “Mr. B”, also 30 years old, has created about 150 Deepfake videos that involve more than 70 celebrities, including idols, actresses and streamers. He took a further step forward using the “Deep Voice” technology to manipulate the audio, making it appear as if the stars spoke in a vulgar or obscene language.
A third man, “Mr. C”, presumably produced over 300 fake videos with non-celebrities, including former classmates of the middle school-and shared them within these same chat rooms.
Most of the suspicions were young unemployed for teenagers and twenty years, with some well -being assistants of the government. The authorities have noticed that many managed anonymously and without any financial income, pushed instead by “personal fantasies” and by the desire to “validate” by their peers.
The participants in the chat room hypothesized that the video of deepfakes of celebrities would not have been investigated or, even if they were, the punishment would be light. But digital sexual crimes seriously interrupt the daily life of the victims and we commit ourselves to eradicate them.
