Ong Seong-wu will star in the remake of Spellbound, his first drama film in three years

Ong Seong-wu is set to make his highly anticipated return to the small screen, this time as the lead in the upcoming remake of the 2011 romantic fantasy film Enchanted.

According to insiders on October 14, the actor officially joined the cast of the new drama adaptation, which is currently scheduled to air in 2026. The production team is finalizing casting for both lead and supporting roles before starting filming.

The drama remake will follow a ghost-seeing hotel heiress and a passionate prosecutor as they team up on a mysterious joint investigation that blurs the lines between life and death.

The original Enchanted (2011), starring Son Ye-jin and Lee Min-ki, was a cult hit for its unique blend of horror and romance.

In the remake, Ong Seong-wu will play Kang Min-hwan, the heir to a major hotel and resort group and CEO of the Raymond Hotel on Jeju Island. His character is described as an intelligent, charismatic and eloquent man whose gentle exterior hides both ambition and pain.

Actors Park Eun-bin and Yang Se-jong are currently in talks to join the cast as heiress Cheon Yeo-ri and prosecutor Ma Kang-wook, respectively.
