…but perhaps not to the extent that fandom is experiencing now.
Somewhere between his emotional handwritten letter and the wreath-and-truck power struggle in front of SM Entertainment, Vogue Korea they tried to show their support for “OT7”.
Well, until the tweet was deleted, of course.
Vogue Korea tweeted: “The RIIZE group goes back to its roots and starts over again.” The tweet, viewed 140,000 times, then garnered a wave of replies.
Supposedly due to the unexpected amount of heat it received, the tweet was deleted and its trace no longer exists, but the Internet is forever. A screenshot of the original tweet made the rounds online, fueling the divide between supporters of the return and those against the return. Some even became convinced that Vogue Korea was waiting for Seunghan’s return due to the unreleased content featuring the member.
- “I bet there’s a photoshoot or interview that Vogue Korea wants to do, LOL.”
- “Oh, don’t tell me there’s a photoshoot on OT7… I won’t support it.”
- “Throw away the image, if that’s what it’s about.”
- “I wonder if Vogue Korea got involved because there was some sort of image to publish… because if not, what’s wrong with them? Read the room.
- “So clueless.”
While no one knows the intention behind Vogue Korea’s tweets and deletions, one thing is clear: Seunghan’s return is proving more controversial than Vogue Korea could have ever predicted.
The article remains published in Vogue Korea, asking, “Seunghan has worked hard to improve his skills during his break, and we are curious to see what kind of performances he will bring upon his return to the team. What will the next chapter be like for the seven members of RIIZE who reunited again?”
