Fans of girl groups THE SERAPHINS AND YOU organized a truck protest on November 20 in front of HYBE headquarters in Seoul, expressing strong opposition to the return of New Jeans under the ADOR label. The protest comes amid ongoing controversy New Jeans‘ return and their relationship with the company.
On the truck’s board, the messages say: “We cannot remain silent against organized malicious comments”, “HYBE and Belift Lab must restore protection for ILLIT”AND “Address harm and take action to protect mental and physical health.”
THE SERAPHINSFandom has also raised its voice, criticizing its agency Source Music for remaining silent in the face of alleged workplace harassment. They wondered if Source Music could really protect THE SERAPHINSasking: “Can you protect SSERAFIM who work sincerely?”
The protest highlighted slogans such as “Does just being near HYBE mean depression?” AND “The ones who are really shaking in pain are LE SSERAFIM and FEARNOT (the LE SSERAFIM fandom).”
The participants steadfastly rejected any “forced apology or reconciliation”. They stated: “We will not share any authority with the group that has targeted LE SSERAFIM in a malicious way.”
The controversy stems from the delay in announcing the negotiations between HYBE, ADOR and New Jeans‘ members for their return. Fan communities are divided: some are opposed New Jeansreturn entirely or require completely separate activities.
Additionally, the domestic workers staged a separate protest against the trucks THE SERAPHINS fans in front of the HYBE building, where they criticized New Jeansmembers.
HYBE affiliates have issued statements regarding harmful comments. Belift Lab said on November 14 that although some members are minors, the agency will strengthen monitoring and respond firmly to harmful posts targeting artists. Source Music similarly announced legal action, citing a wave of malicious posts directed at him THE SERAPHINS.
The situation raises questions about how HYBE will address deeply rooted tensions between fan communities and the internal dynamics of its labels – and whether they will be able to facilitate coexistence under the same corporate roof.
