NewJeans recently won the Best Performance Award at the 9th Asia Artist Awards (hereinafter referred to as “2024 AAA”), which was held on December 27.
When the win was announced, NewJeans expressed their delight at receiving the Best Performance award for their song “How Sweet.” It was noted that, similar to previous appearances, the members introduced themselves without saying the group’s name, probably due to their feud with HYBE and ADOR.

On stage, the girl group shared, “We are so happy. This is an award we really wanted to give to our show directors, who carefully plan each scene and work so hard. Our members have also worked hard to create great performances, so we are thrilled to win this award. We are also grateful to our dancers.”
They continued, “We want to thank Min Hee-jin and seeing so many of our (NewJeans fandom) bunnies with their glow sticks was very touching. When we debuted, we also won the Best Performance Award and we are so grateful to receive it again. It seems like our members love this award the most, so we are very happy. The show is not just about the dance: it’s also about having comfortable and elegant clothes that make the show shine. We are grateful to our staff for providing us with such amazing outfits for our stages.
Danielle also spoke into the microphone in English, stating: “There couldn’t be such amazing performances without our music. We really want to say a huge thank you to our CEO Min Hee-jin, thank you so much, we love her so much.
Meanwhile, amidst the feud with HYBE and ADOR, as well as Min Hee-jin’s resignation from the agency, NewJeans has consistently shown support for the creative director. Most recently, member Minji wore a T-shirt with Min Hee-jin’s name and face while NewJeans appeared on a radio show.
