NewJeans manager accuses CEO Kim Joo-young of bullying, ADOR rejects ‘harmful conduct’

According to Channel A, on December 11, the manager, identified as “A,” filed a complaint with the Ministry of Employment and Labor, accusing CEO Kim of workplace bullying. The manager claimed that ADOR forcibly confined them to the company and demanded the surrender of their laptop and personal phone.

In this regard, ADOR stated: “An employee in charge of management contacted the advertisers directly, bypassing the company, and urged the artist to sign contracts directly with the brands. The manager in question admitted having engaged in such communication. This constitutes serious harmful conduct that facilitates the violation of the artist’s exclusivity contract.”

ADOR further noted that the manager was given the opportunity to clarify his actions, but declined all interviews. The company denied the allegations of unlawful confinement or coercive behavior, adding that the manager presented the company-owned laptop after formatting it to make data recovery impossible.

ADOR has announced its intention to investigate the truth and take necessary legal action.

Meanwhile, members of NewJeans said last month that ADOR had violated their exclusivity contracts and announced their intention to terminate them. In response, ADOR filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the contracts.
